Like every time, we are just not talking about a splash of some Bengali lyrics peppered over a hindi number. In fact, a full song in Bangla will be featured in the latest production of Yash Raj Film’s, Gunday, starring Arjun Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
Composed by the talented Sohail Sen, the Bangla number has been sung by one of the famous Bong singer of the Bollywood, Bappi Lahiri, and is being touted as a full-on masti number. Lahiri, who turned 61 this week, maintains that he had a fun time humming the Gunday song in Bengali. “It’s not often that one gets to sing in one’s mother tongue in a Hindi film. The Gunday song was great fun,” said the veteran singer in an interview.
Bappida is also associated with the composition for the music and also in singing a song in a film called Chahe Mujhe Koi Junglee Kahe. It’s being produced by the newly-graded Bombay Talkies productions and is directed by Johnny Walker’s son Nassir. “It’s great fun to be working with so many young people. I may be 61 but I don’t feel old,” he added.
