While “Satyagraha” directed by Prakash Jha was set to release on August 23, the makers postponed it to August 30 recently, setting up a clash with “War Chhod Na Yaar” — directed and written by debutant Faraz Haider.
Satyagraha will see Kareena Kapoor romancing Ajay Devgn, while Soha is paired opposite Sharman Joshi in the war comedy War Chhod Na Yaar.
Satyagraha, Jha’s much-awaited movie after Rajneeti and Aarakshan, is rumoured to be based on activist Anna Hazare’s fight against corruption. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee and Amrita Rao. Going by Jha’s earlier films, this one too is expected to be a hard-hitting take on today’s society.
In War Chhod Na Yaar, Sharman Joshi will be seen in army uniform for the first time. The film takes a lighter look at wars and tries to find out what brings people to the battlefield. It has already sparked interest in industry circles with the brilliant subject. The fresh pairing, too, is working in favour of the movie. Soha Ali Khan, playing a journalist in the movie, is said to be romantically linked to Sharman’s armyman. The movie also stars Javed Jafferi. War Chhod Na Yaar is produced by AOPL.
Soha was last seen in a cameo in the zombie comedy Go Goa Gone which also featured brother Saif Ali Khan and boyfriend Kunal Khemu.
Soha Ali Khan has previously said that she gets along well with Saif Ali Khan’s wife Kareena Kapoor. Now it remains to be seen how the sisters-in-law fare at the box office.
