The 76 year old veteran patriotic actor, Manoj Kumar will be doing a voice over for a film based on the life of the late Lal Bahadur Shastri, the 2nd Prime Minister of India. The actor was famous in his prime time for doing movies like ‘Upkaar’ and ‘Purab aur Paschim’, arousing the love for the country in the mind of the audience even now has been away from the film world for a long time and shows enthusiasm in lending his voice to the character of the Freedom Fighter cum Prime Minister in the movie ‘Lal Bahadur Shastri: Gudari Ke Lal’.
Milan Ajmera, Director of the film chalked out this plan as Manoj Kumar and Lal Bahadur Shastri had a link between them. During the premiere of Manoj Kumar’s 1965 film, ‘Shaheed’ which was released during the Indo-Pak War, Shashtriji himself attended the program. The film’s director later also confirmed this news, “My writer got the idea of getting Manojji to narrate the sequence of events and when we contacted him, he immediately agreed. We are making arrangements to record in his eyes.
