Bollywood Actor Ranbir Kapoor sent an apology through his lawyer to a court here on Thursday, apologising for smoking in a public place but claimed it was part of the shoot of a film.
The actor had gone to Udaipur to shoot Jawani Diwani and was seen smoking at Gangaur Ghat, a location of the shooting near Lake Pichola in Ghantaghar Police station Area.
Harish, a resident of Jagdish Chowk, had filed a complaint with Ghantaghar police station on 1 June under section 5/1 of the Rajasthan Smoking Prohibition Act 2010.
The police had collected evidence from newspaper reports and video of the event and found Ranbir prima facie guilty of the offence.
The next hearing of the case at court is on 27 August.
